King’s College Hospital ED
We created a calm, reassuring setting, with moments of joy, for patients and staff at one of the UK’s busiest ED departments, including the Mental Health suite.
The Challenge
To instil a sense of place and a settling feel into this large windowless, newly-refitted Majors Unit.
Our Response
We collaborated with the ED, MH and Patient Experience Teams to select images of familiar local landmarks that best resonated, before installing as large-format wall art in each treatment bay and waiting area, together with fresh signage throughout and an easy-maintenance subtle 2-shade decor palette.
The MH and custodian spaces’ makeover included UK-manufactured heavy-weighted furnishings in complementary colours.
By special request, a photoshoot from the Helideck was arranged by us to add the finishing touch!
