King’s College Hospital Paediatric Out-patients

We turned the clinical and tired feel of this busy Paediatric Outpatient wing, into an immersive and sensory London-themed journey

The Challenge

To transform an extensive, totally bland backdrop into a welcoming, fun and connective scheme, with the age and individuality of the young patients in mind

Our Response

With the assistance of artwork from pupils of The Corpus Christi Catholic School and Blackheath High Junior School, we instilled a WOW throughout that uplifts mood, sparks curiosity and educates too. A bonus was securing the latest high-hygiene paint, kindly donated by Teknos GBI.

“For a young patient, the excitement of having their appointment in ‘London Eye’ instead of ‘Consulting Room 3’ is a welcome distraction and immensely satisfying for us to see.  The stimulating surroundings have positively impacted staff well-being too.”

Laura Duffell, Matron of Paediatric Ambulatory Care
